1. Possess a Current License

2. Online Application
Complete the online application and include contact information (including email addresses) for 3 professional references.
3. TB Test
Provide results of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test completed by any licensed healthcare professional dated within the past 12 months.
4. Morgan Hunter Education Background Check
Morgan Hunter Education completes a background check on all applicants. The applicant is responsible for the initial Background Check fee of $35. This fee is fully refundable if offered employment with Morgan Hunter Education once he/she completes 10 substitute teaching assignments within the Morgan Hunter Education schools.
5. Pre-Employment Meeting
If an applicant is offered employment he/she will be invited to a Pre-Employment Meeting. This meeting is the final step toward becoming a Morgan Hunter Education Substitute Teacher. The applicant will be eligible to begin accepting substitute teaching positions once this final step is complete. The purpose of the Pre-Employment Meeting is to review Morgan Hunter Education and district procedures, introduce the applicant to our online system and improve confidence levels and teaching skills before entering the classroom. The Morgan Hunter Education team also wants to make sure all of our Substitutes are proficient in employing appropriate and effective teaching strategies and classroom management each time he/she takes charge of a classroom. Pre-Employment Meetings are offered weekly.
6. Professional Development
Substitute Teachers who possess a Kansas Emergency Substitute License will be required to complete the STEDI.org SubSkills™ training by the end of their first school year with Morgan Hunter Education and the STEDI.org Advanced training by the end of their third year with Morgan Hunter Education. Substitutes with a Standard or Professional license are exempt from this training.
1. Must provide Morgan Hunter Education a copy of your high school diploma.
2. Must have experience working with children Grades Pre-K-12.
3. Must complete steps 2-6 above.
