Sub of the Month

Neena was chosen as the Sub of the Month because she is always willing to work anywhere and is flexible. She never complains if her assignment changes and always has a great team player attitude.

What do you like most about being a substitute teacher?

It’s great being a substitute teacher, as I get the chance to teach in different schools and to students of different grades. Also, there are diverse students from different backgrounds and cultures. I love to have experiences with all those students and get to know about them. Being a substitute teacher is awesome.

Why did you become a substitute teacher? What is your background or other jobs you have had?

I always wanted to become a teacher. Teaching is my passion. I love kids and love teaching. As far as my background, I have been a teacher for the last 7 years, from kindergarten to 12th grade. I have even taught college and university students.

What is your favorite grade level/subject to teach?

I love to teach all grade levels from K-12 and all subjects, but I love to teach chemistry to college and university students. Chemistry is my favorite subject.

What do you feel the students like most about you when you fill in as the teacher?

Students like that I am very flexible and loveable. They feel very comfortable learning from me because I have patience with them when I am teaching. I get a lot of notes from students that say “I Love You, Ms. S.” Students usually call me Ms. S. instead of Ms. Neena Singla or Ms. Singla.

What do you do in your free time when you are not working?

When I am not working, I watch TV and eat different kinds of dishes and food. I love it.

Tell us about your family.

As for my family, I am blessed with my father, two brothers and two sweet nieces. They all live in India. My dad is very supportive, caring, protective and loves me a lot. My dad is the best father in the world. And it’s all because of my mother’s blessings, love and support of my dad and brothers that I am here in this position and doing good. Not doing good, even, I am doing the best. May God bless them.

Tell us something unique about yourself.

I am a very loveable person and love everyone, especially kids, and have lots and lots of patience. I love my students.
